When Choosing A Local Apache Junction Auto Glass Company
Apache Junction is located at an average of 1722 feet above sea level and covers an area of 34.2 square miles. The average annual temperature ranges from lows of around 39 degrees Fahrenheit to highs over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. With these drastic temperature fluctuations occurring on a daily basis, it is very important for an auto glass repair or windshield replacement company to understand how this situation can affect a vehicle's integrity. In addition, most vehicle owners do not realize that these conditions often cause significant stress on all vehicle glass, including side windows, quarter windows, vent windows, back windows and particularly windshields. It is a good idea to use a local auto glass repair and replacement company that is knowledgeable about the glass best suited for the local environment. Quality glass can protect against cancer causing UV light and may refract sunlight, which will help keep the interior of the vehicle much cooler.

Can an EMP Break a Windshield?
There are many conspiracy theories surrounding Denver International Airport. Some believe it is home to one of the many FEMA camps, some believe it covers a massive 8-story top secret underground research facility; some even believe it is the home of another race of beings and some just think it is a cutting-edge, modern airport.
No matter what you believe about Denver International Airport, there was a strange and unexplainable event that took place there a few years ago. February of 2007, at least 13 airplane windshields cracked within a few hours of each other. No one could explain this phenomenon. There was no sign of vandalism.
Some thought that perhaps the cold weather caused the damage to all of the windshields as Colorado is known for harsh weather winter. However, some of the damaged airplanes were parked in hangers at the time. Some of the engineers thought that perhaps a power surge caused the cracked windshields. However, some of the planes were in taxi and some others were taking off or landing when their windshield broke.
There is another theory, one that we neither support nor denounce; At The Phoenix Auto Glass Blog, we simply bringing you the stories. The theory states that there is a giant EMP (Electro-Magnetic-Pulse) testing facility below Denver International Airport. Airplane Windshields have tiny heating wires that connect to the airplanes power supply. An EMP pulse could have caused the airplanes electrical systems to overload, which would have caused the heating wires to heat up faster than the cold windshields could handle.

Windshields of the Future
The top priority with cars today is style. While safety is continually improving, style is what really brings customers into a showroom. Advertising touts style and performance, but the added safety and utility features that windshields provide do not receive any mention. This leaves many of us unaware of just how important and progressive windshields have become.
In modern windshields there is a nanocomposite coating material between the layers of tempered glass, which gives the windshield a blue undertone. This nanocomposite layer is a product of the growing field of nano-science, or nano-technology, studies that work with matter on an ultra small-scale. The nano-composite layer does not scratch, bubble, deform, or fade because it is not a film. It absorbs certain frequencies of light, and this reduces the effect of glare or haze. It filters out over ninety percent of infrared emissions. This filtering protects the interior of the vehicle from aging and cracking, as well as reduces the amount of heat allowed in the passenger compartment. This reduces the amount of fuel used while the air conditioner is running. Since newer windshields are cooler, allowing clearer visibility, and are much stronger, we can expect future automobile styles to feature more glass.
Drivers face more distractions now than they ever have in the past. Automobile engineers and scientists are addressing this issue through heads-up technology. It allows drivers to see non-distracting, translucent, 3-D information displayed on the windshield. Heads-up technology allows drivers to gain needed information while still keeping their eyes within the proper field of vision.
Since the military carries out most of the research in this area, the manufacturing costs remain very high. Most of the cost comes from the process of heating and polishing the required materials in the final stages of production. The good news is that the product is a mixture of glass and oxides of platinum and aluminum. Using this transparent metallic glass results in a stronger product, which adds only millimeters to the thickness and weighs less than the glass used today.
