The Benefits of Tinted Auto Windows
It does not take a full summer of living in Arizona to notice vehicles can become unbearably hot inside even with the air conditioner running full blast. The vehicle I owned when I first moved to Arizona did not have tinted windows and having no experience with the type of heat this state offers, I gave the idea little thought. Any passengers I had, especially in the back seats, were generally miserable when the sun beat down on them. This is a significant amount, especially when considering that research shows drivers are more prone to cancer on exposed skin typically closest to a vehicle’s windows.
If this is not enough reason to have window tint applied to automotive glass there are other benefits as well. Such as providing additional privacy and security for vehicle occupants and vehicle contents, leaving both safer by not readily exposing possible criminal opportunities. Window tinting contributes to holding pieces of glass together when broken and provides protection for the interior surfaces of the vehicle from aging factors such as fading and cracking.
Before tinting automobile windows, it is a good idea to become familiar with Arizona state law governing its use as laws vary by state. In Arizona, no less than thirty-three percent of available light may pass through the front and front side auto windows leaving a maximum allowable sixty-seven percent of light deflected. There are no parallel Arizona state restrictions regarding the back and back side windows, meaning there are more choices for the degree of tint protection on these windows including any colour choices other than red-amber.
Had I known this information when I first moved to Arizona I most likely would have taken my vehicle in to have window tinting applied right away. The amount of protection from the sun’s UV rays and the sun’s heat, in addition to the added security provided, makes it well worth dropping off a vehicle to have tinting applied to the windows. Now that I drive a car with window tinting, I would have it no other way.
